Brown Soda Farls

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4lbs Coarse Brown Wholemeal
  • 3/4 lb. Plain White Flour
  • 1 oz. Melted Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda (Sieved)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 pt. Buttermilk

Instructions

Mix together lightly.

Put out onto a large and well floured bowl and bring together to a large ball.

Divide into 4 equal pieces and shape each of these into flat circular cakes of about 5 or 6 ins. diameter

Divide each of these into eight equal triangles sliced through the middle like a cake.

Paint each farl with a little egg wash and bake at 220 C 400 F Gas8 for 10 to 12 mts.
